Michael von Fange and Ryan Rosenthal launched Simpls in 2014 on the simple premise that real food made with whole ingredients should be accessible. Over the course of 5 years they opened 3 sustainability focused convenience store locations in Minneapolis and won the MN Cup Food Division in 2015.
Scratch-made soup quickly became the premier offering of the shops and the two founders now plan to deliver real, delicious soup to people across the United States.
Michael is a natural fit for the food industry, holding a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Ha! He worked for Rockwell Automation previous to Simpls.
Ryan spent four years working at processed food giant General Mills prior to Simpls. Fertile learning grounds that provided ultimate motivation to find a way to bring better food to the world.
